Virginia State Capitol Master Plan
Created March 2005
The Virginia State Capitol Master Plan focuses on developing a long-range (10-year) program for the growth of state agencies within the Capitol Square complex and an urban design framework to guide future construction. The goal is to enhance the functionality of this important area and for the Capitol Square complex to continue serving as the symbol of democracy and a distinctive component of Virginia’s heritage.
The Master Plan was developed by the Department of General Services and its consultant, Wallace Roberts & Todd, LLC.
Because of its size the Virginia State Capitol Master Plan is divided into ten files available for viewing or download. For the safety of employees and buildings at the Capitol Square complex, some sensitive data has been removed or blacked-out in accordance with the Code of Virginia § 2.2-3705.2.
