Small businesses classified as 8(a) with the U.S. Small Business Administration can obtain federal surplus property.

The 8(a) program is designed to assist socially and economically disadvantaged businesspersons, and the SBA determines eligibility in the program.

Some service charges and restrictions apply for all property that 8(a) businesses receive.
