The Virginia Distribution Center is dedicated to providing its customers with the highest quality services and products at the lowest prices.
To ensure quality of service and continuity of supply, our professional buying staff makes decisions based on their knowledge of market trends -- supply and demand, seasonal needs, forward buying and consolidation of requirements -- which results in reduced costs to our customers. Advisory committees, consisting of agency representatives, provide feedback to the VDC on quality requirements for commodities stocked, participate in product evaluations and suggest ways that the VDC can improve quality.
Over 950 top-quality line items are available, including staple foods, frozen foods, janitorial supplies, paper and plastic products and other select items. The VDC's quality assurance program provides for random evaluations of commodities for adherence to specifications and responds to agency complaints concerning product quality.
The VDC's 128,000 square foot facility is centrally located in Sandston near the Richmond International Airport, from where it serves the entire state of Virginia.
